Jeff Ecker Hand Wrist Fellowship Program
A 6 month fellowship is provided for specialists in training who want to gain further experience in hand and wrist surgery.
The fellow will receive one-on-one mentorship with hand and wrist surgeon, Mr Jeff Ecker, in both clinic and operative settings.
The fellow will be involved in all aspects of adult hand surgery, gaining experience in pre-operative and post-operative management, will be exposed to various conditions and injuries, and immersed in the latest surgical techniques relevant to the hand and wrist.
The fellow will have active involvement in the hand and wrist clinic, and routinely assist in surgery with both elective and trauma cases.
Collaborating with Mr Ecker and his research team, the fellow will prepare and publish a minimum of one paper in a peer reviewed journal during the program.

Fremantle Hospital is a 300-bed specialist hospital focused on providing high-quality aged care, mental health, secondary rehabilitation, planned surgeries and medical services.
Position Profile
The Department of Hand Surgery at Fremantle Hospital is a combined Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgical Hand Unit undertaking traumatic and elective workload. The unit runs during working hours and not after hours or on weekends or public holidays, although there is the opportunity to be involved in the on-call roster at Fiona Stanley Hospital. We run an all-day trauma operating theatre and a morning trauma clinic, as well as some elective clinics and elective operating theatre sessions.
Eligibility to Apply
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and eligible to work in Australia. Successful applicants will have completed SET 5 with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (or equivalent) and be eligible for (or have been awarded) their Fellowship of Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent in either Plastic Surgery or Orthopaedic Surgery.
